A Shopify theme for podcasts that sell: merch, memberships and gear, with an episode archive and a built-in audio player.
Install and presets
Add Roomtone from the Shopify Theme Store: Online Store → Themes → Visit Theme Store. The theme installs with the Roomtone preset, which matches the demo store.
After installing, open Customize and pick your blog, collection and membership product in the home page sections. Sections that have nothing selected show placeholders so you can see where content goes.
Theme settings

| Colors | Five color schemes. Each has background, text, secondary text, accent, button, button label and border. Every section has a color scheme setting. |
| Typography | Heading, body and accent fonts from the Shopify font library. The accent font is used for episode numbers, durations and timestamps. Headings can be uppercase or as typed. |

Episodes and the audio player
Episodes are blog posts. Create a blog (for example “Episodes”) and add one post per episode. Tags on a post are shown as the episode's series, and the archive page lets listeners filter by series.
Add episode details with metafields
Go to Settings → Metafields and metaobjects → Blog posts and add these definitions. They are all optional; the theme hides anything that's empty.

The player works with the keyboard and screen readers, remembers the playback speed while the page is open, and docks to the bottom of the screen while an episode plays and the listener scrolls. Without JavaScript, the browser's own audio controls are shown.
Put your show notes and transcript in the post content. They're searchable in your store's search.

Product pages
The product information section is made of blocks you can reorder: text, title, price, variant picker, purchase options, quantity, buy buttons, description, inventory status, SKU, collapsible tabs, share, complementary products, custom Liquid and app blocks.
- Swatches: color and pattern options show as swatches when you set them in the product's category metafields.
- Gift cards: customers can send a gift card to someone else with a message and a delivery date.
- Pickup: shows local pickup availability when you use local pickup.
- Complementary products: set them with the free Search & Discovery app.
Selling a membership
Roomtone includes a product template called product.membership. Create a product for your membership, add a tier option (for example “Backstage” and “Studio pass”), and assign the membership template in the product's theme template setting.
To charge monthly or yearly, install a subscriptions app (for example Shopify Subscriptions) and create a subscription plan for the product. The Purchase options block then lists each plan with its price. Payment always happens in Shopify checkout.
Private feeds and member-only episodes are delivered by your podcast host or a membership app, not by the theme. Use the FAQ tabs on the template to explain how members receive their extras.
Collections, filters and search
Filters come from the Search & Discovery app. Customers can filter by availability, price and any product option or metafield you enable, sort results, and remove filters one by one. The header search shows suggestions for products, collections, pages and episodes as customers type.
Cart
Choose a cart drawer or a cart page in Theme settings → Cart. Both show discounts, subscription plans, unit prices and accelerated checkout buttons such as Shop Pay, Apple Pay and PayPal.
Pages, contact and sponsors
Assign templates to pages in each page's theme template setting:
page.contact: page content plus a contact form.page.sponsors: an intro, ad formats and a booking form, for brands that want to sponsor the show.
FAQ
The player doesn't appear on an episode.
Add an audio file to the post with the custom.audio_url or custom.audio metafield. The player is hidden when neither is set.
Episode numbers are wrong.
Add the custom.episode_number metafield to each post. Without it, numbers follow the posts' order in the blog.
The Purchase options block is empty.
It only shows when the product has subscription plans. Install a subscriptions app and add a plan to the product.
How do I change the “A podcast” label above my store name?
Open Theme settings → Logo and edit the wordmark label, or leave it empty to hide it. Uploading a logo image replaces the text logo.
Can I use Roomtone for a store that isn't a podcast?
Yes. Every episode section is a blog section, so you can use it for any blog, and the store sections work for any catalog.
Where do I add filters?
Install the free Search & Discovery app and choose filters under Filters.
